I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia M1/2 Normal Karotypes on December 29, 2001. I went through induction therapy in January 2002, followed by two rounds of consolidation therapy, one in February and one in March. I enjoyed almost 12 months of remission. I really used these 12 months fully, traveling, working and enjoying family and friends. Unfortunately, I got the word on January 20, 2003 that I had relapsed. This meant I had to have a Stem Cell Transplant on March 17, 2003. My sister was a 100% match and was my donor (THANK YOU HEATHER!!) The transplant was at New York Cornell Hospital and my transplant doctor was Michael W. Schuster.
